How to Get a Wallet – How to Set Up MetaMask (Web3 Wallet) in a Browser
You need a digital web3 wallet (“wallet”) to be able to buy the Mawari Guardian licenses and to receive and hold the licenses when they arrive. You can purchase the licenses with a regular credit card (max 5 licenses) so you do not need to have cryptocurrency in your wallet. But you do need to sign up for a wallet to make the purchase so that we know where to deliver the licenses to when Mawari Network chain goes live in Q4/2025.
The wallets are not provided by or affiliated with Mawari, and there are many possible wallet providers you could choose from. We have provided instructions on how to get a MetaMask wallet below, if you do not already have a wallet that you are using.
Step 1. Install the MetaMask extension in your browser
Open your browser. Please use only Chrome, Firefox, or Brave for these instructions.
Visit the official MetaMask website (https://metamask.io). Click on “Get Metamask” and it will bring you to the MetaMask extension page for your browser, where you can choose to install the extension / add-on.
Click “Add to Chrome” or “Add to Firefox” to install the extension / add-on from the official browser’s store. You may have to accept a pop-up from the browser to grant permissions after doing so.

[Optional] Pin the MetaMask icon in your browser toolbar for easy access.
[In Firefox] Choose whether or not to share metrics data with MetaMask.
Step 2. Create a New Wallet
[In Chrome] Select the “Get Started” button on the Metamask webpage and then accept the MetaMask Terms of Use. You will need to check that you agree to the terms, read to the bottom of the terms, and choose “Agree”.
[In Firefox] Click the checkmark to accept MetaMask’s Terms of Use.
Select “Create a new wallet.”

Set a strong password for your wallet. Note that the wallet will be specific to this browser/device.
Step 3. Create and back up the Secret Recovery Phrase
Create a backup recovery phrase by clicking “Get Started” (Chrome) or “Secure my wallet” (Firefox). It is very important to create a backup recovery phrase so you can recover your wallet if you get a new device or you forget the password.

MetaMask will provide a 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase. Click on-screen to reveal it. Write it down on paper or store it securely offline.

Never share this phrase with anyone. It is the key to restoring your wallet.
Step 4. Confirm the Secret Recovery Phrase
MetaMask will ask you to verify the 12 words by selecting or typing them in order. Confirm your new secret recovery phrase by selecting (Chrome) or typing (Firefox) the correct words from the recovery phrase to fill in the blanks.
Choose whether you want to contribute data back to MetaMask or not (in Chrome). Click “Done” to finalize the wallet setup.

If you hadn’t already pinned the MetaMask extension to your browser earlier, it will show you instructions on how to do so (below). Please pin the extension now.
Note – once you click done, you will be directed to your screen account on MetaMask, and might see a Solana pop-up. You do not need to do anything further here, because the sale is on Arbitrum, not Solana. Solana setup isn’t required right now and can be completed later in the MetaMask extension if you choose. For your purchase on the Mawari DIO sales portal, you only need the Metamask EVM default address (Ethereum/Arbitrum compatible). Please move to the next step below to connect to the Mawari DIO portal.

Step 5. Connect to a Mawari DIO Sale portal
Visit the Mawari DIO portal at https://nodes.mawari.net
Note that you should use the same browser that you added the MetaMask extension to, or it will be confused.
Click “Connect Wallet”
Choose MetaMask from the list that appears.
You will need to accept the connection to the application in MetaMask. A pop-up window for MetaMask will launch, and a notification bubble will appear by the MetaMask extension in your browser. Click on either one, and select “Connect” to accept the connection in the pop-up.
[In Chrome] Next, you need to connect your MetaMask account to Mawari DIO so we can register your wallet address and record your purchases on the Arbitrum blockchain. Please accept the connection request. If a pop-up for Arbitrum appears, make sure to switch to the Arbitrum One network and approve that connection to MetaMask as well.

[In Firefox] Please switch to the Arbitrum One network and approve the Arbitrum connection to your MetaMask wallet. This step is necessary because any licenses you purchase will be recorded on the Arbitrum blockchain. If the switch does not work the first try, please try again.
Now you should be able to select and purchase your Mawari Guardian node licenses.
